Integrative Veterinary Medicine: This is a phrase that many of us have heard. What does it mean for you and your horse?
Simply put: Integrative Medicine is the combining of many different modalities to provide better care for patients. In the field of Veterinary
Medicine, this includes such modalities as:
- Acupuncture
- Spinal Manipulation (Chiropractic),
- Laser Therapy
- Chinese and Western Herbal therapies
- Rehabilitation
- Food as medicine
- Natural hoof care
My intention for this blog is to introduce these modalities and show how we use them at Windhorse Veterinary Clinic. I will present cases that we have treated here.
Every day, I get to use these modalities and every day I am amazed at how well they work. The horses that people have given up on, that can go back to work. I say WOW and COOL on an hourly basis! Learning and practicing these modalities has made me a much better veterinarian. I want to share these stories with you!
I will also have many posts that cover regular veterinary medical concerns.
