Meet Our Team

Dr. Roster started Windhorse Veterinary Clinic in 2002 and we have moving forward ever since. We really like our patients and by extension our clients. Our purpose is to help our patients and we use many different tools to do this. This practice uses regular, Western medicine with Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), Spinal Manipulation (Animal Chiropractics), prescription Chinese and Western Herbal medications. This integration is “where the magic happens!” Each animal brings it’s own story into our lives. When we listen to these stories, we find the best medicine for each patient.

Our physical practice is located by Spencer, SD. We are very close many towns in our area including: Epiphany, Canova, Howard, Carthage, Fedora, Spencer, Farmer, Alexandria, Emery, Mitchell, Bridgewater, Salem. We also travel, especially for equine and other large animal work. Our travel often takes us to Tyndall, Huron, Humbolt, Hartford, Sioux Falls and surrounding areas

Teresa Roster, DVM, CEVMM

Medical director

Dr. Roster grew up in ND and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. Graduating from Kansas State Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 1993, was just the start of things to come. Dr. Roster worked in four other mixed animal practices through out SD before starting Windhorse Veterinary Clinic in 2002.

Dr. Roster realized the need for Complimentary medical modalities very early in her career. She attended Colorado State University Veterinary Acupuncture training in 2000. This was a six month intensive class, learning the art and science of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) and Acupuncture. In 2014, Dr. Roster attended the Chi Institute intensive class for Equine Veterinary Medical Manipulation. This was also a 6 month intensive class. The entire anatomy of the horse was reviewed, biomechanics of movement and lameness and learning to palpate and release restrictions (make adjustments) was taught. Dr. Roster sat for the 3 hour written exam and took the hands on practical exam and is a Certified Equine Veterinary Medical Manipulator (CEVMM).

Dr. Roster does like to ride her own horses, with her young daughter and garden.
